Installed this on my 2017 Silverado 5.3L after noticing a slight hesitation whenever the engine switched between V8 and V4 mode on the highway. Within ten seconds of plugging it into the OBD2 port, the transition shudder was completely gone. The truck stays firmly locked in V8 power, throttle response is noticeably sharper, and I no longer have to worry about premature lifter failure. Best investment I have made for my truck.

My buddy had a collapsed lifter on his Tahoe last year and paid over six thousand dollars out of pocket to get it fixed at the dealership. Super fast shipping and absolute zero setup required. I literally unwrapped the package, walked out to my GMC Yukon, plugged it in above the pedals, and started the engine. The small indicator light came on to let me know it was active. Unplugged it before my scheduled oil change at the dealership and plugged it right back in afterward without leaving any diagnostic codes.

If you have an aftermarket exhaust on your GM V8, you know how terrible the exhaust sounds when AFM kicks in and drops to four cylinders. It gives off a weird, hollow helicopter sound. This disabler keeps the deep V8 rumble consistent at all speeds and loads.
